The 7th sanctions package

The EU Foreign Affairs Cabinet has agreed on a new package of sanctions against Russia, which is full of individuals, but contains no additional restrictions on Russian energy resources.  As before, Gazprom is standing firm.

The new package includes 48 individuals, including one of the deputy prime ministers of the Russian government and several regional leaders, and nine companies. The new package also stipulates the possibility for Sberbank to fulfill its obligations to its former clients in Hungary. – Another 48 individuals will be added to the EU sanctions list, including a Russian deputy prime minister and several regional political leaders, as well as nine organizations,” said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjártó at a news conference. According to him, the seventh package of anti-Russian sanctions, which includes a ban on trade in gold and dual-use goods, as well as restrictions on government procurement and receipt of deposits, a ban on accounting services and auditing, will be finalized by permanent representatives of the European Union at a meeting in Brussels. Recall that as retaliatory counter-sanctions from October 1, 2022 in Russia may come into force a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles from the European Union
